Biography: Skillfully fusing hip-hop and soul, Traycee Lynn is an engaging artist that moves the crowd to head nods and tears. Philadelphia-based and self described as the hip-hop songstress, Lynn has been writing since she was eight years old. A prodigy on the horizon, at the tender age of 8, Lynn would create hip-hop rhythms and verses while beating rhythms on tables, windows, and walls - a "tomboy hobby" she picked up from her older brother. She would later develop a knack for songwriting through her soprano and alto roles in her hometown church in Harrisburg, PA. After attending Temple University, Lynn stayed in Philadelphia and was mentored and nurtured artisitically by witnessing the Black Lily arts movement. With no formal training, she started her own newspaper, Writer Blocks, for independent artists and writers. The newspaper was formed out of her own passion for music, writing and understanding of the struggles of marketing for independent artists. It would later form powerful connections through icon interviews with signed and unsigned artists and become a promotional vehicle for Lynn and the rest of the underground arts scene in Philadelphia. In 2006, Lynn decided to put the newspaper on hiatus and delve into her own artistry more seriously. She had over 50 songs and a dozen beats (ranging from hip-hop to song) that she had been writing and composing since she began the newspaper, and was inspired by some of the interviews she had conducted to team up with local artists and musicians to manifest her first "serious project" titled THE AWAKENING (released in 2006). It was instantly accepted overseas and heralded as "organic soul with an edge" by London's Soul Brother Records. The leading track from the album, MUSIC OF MY MIND, was written and produced by Lynn in 2004. She had just begun learning major chords and composed the music at Tainted Lab Studios (now Control Tracks) during a frustrating time when Lynn was silenced by her wisdom teeth being removed. She co-produced the rest of the project with Dap Stallion Productions, a local production team that assisted Lynn with music arrangement for some of the album. Although her catalog has diverse sound, Lynn says she feels most kinship with hip-hop, "I'm a child of hip-hop, 80s feel-good music, and Madonna-pop" says Lynn, who is still charged and currently working on a few multi-media projects and collaborations. Her next album will be out in 2008.

Description: A smooth blend of Old School R&B Soul fused with elements of Jazz and Funk!
Biography: Tamara (Tammy) Nichole Harris is a talented lyricist and vocalist from Chicago, Illinois who is earning her cap as a producer as well. Tammy's music is a smooth blend of traditional R&B soul music fused with elements of Jazz & Funk. Tammy's style had been described by many as reminiscent of the timing of Phyllis Hyman, the vibrato of Stephanie Mills and Randy Crawford, a waver like Denise Williams, and the class of Nancy Wilson.
Tammy's debut album, Can't Keep A Good Woman Down", released in 2003 is a mix of funky grooves, attitude with raw emotions, yet feminine in every since of the word. The debut single, "Only To You", is a heart-felt ballad of a woman who has previously encountered unhappy love situations and has finally found the person that she believes is the key. "Only To You" encompasses the essence of love. The title track, "Can't Keep A Good Woman Down", is a testament to strength of women who endure various obstacles on a daily basis. Tammy co-wrote and co-produced all tunes on this album. "Can't Keep A Good Woman Down" offers the listener so much from start to finish.
Tammy’s sophomore project "Natural Vibe" which offers a deeper listen into the artistry of Miss Harris was released May of 2007. This album will features remixes of the title song and "Come Over" by The Remix King, Grammy award winning Maurice Joshua and Rob Diggy whose credits include the Grammy winning re-mix of Crazy in Love for Beyonce. All songs on this project are live band songs with talents lent by some of Chicago's hottest, most sought after and most talented musicians. The title song is collaboration with W. Terence Jackson out of Texas and Clarence Ferguson out of New York. The single is already creating a buzz. This project also features remakes by Tammy’s three female vocalists of all time - Stephanie Mills, Phyllis Hyman & Nancy Wilson, as well as, great new original songs like "Come Over", "Take Me Away", "You Are" and of course the title cut "Natural Vibe"- this entire project is going to be hot! Keep an ear out!
Tammy received an honorable mention in the 2002 & 2003 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for her songs "I'm Through; I'm Done" and "Only To You" respectively. Additionally, "Only To You", "Illusion of Love", "No Other Love", & "Love Your Neighbor" reached the top ten for Illinois, the Midwest, and Top Female Vocal Production with www.broadjam.com. "Illusion of Love" also reached the aforementioned categories, as well as, Broadjam #1 singles. Tammy reached the top 20 with American Idol Underground for "No Other Love."
Most recently Tammy has received several nominations in the LA Music Awards for her songs “Come Over” “If”, and “I Would Be Your Love.” The LA Music Awards is in its 17th year and has some very distinguished past nominees including The Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, Sugar Ray, Hoobastank and more. Tammy has reached the Broadjam top 10 with her song “Come Over” on the R&B, R&B Soul, Illinois and Midwest charts. “Come Over” also reached #1 on the R&B Soul Charts for Broadjam. Tammy was also recognized in the Song of the Year Songwriting Competition as a Finalist for “Come Over” in August 2006, Runner- up for “Baby I Need You” in November 2006, and Suggested Artist for “You Are” in June 2007. —“Marrying a MAN, Raising a HUSBAND,” contains ingredients to capture and retain a global audience. The title declares a down-to-earth understanding shared by millions. The authors’ stories and poems address the situations married couples are faced with daily. The dissimilarities in a relationship are addressed by a foundation of submitting to certain principles, which will conquer the deficits and imperfections…or will it?
This is an important, timely and entertaining work about everyday people confronting everyday problems.
Money don't matter 2 night It sure didn't matter yesterday Just When u think u got than enough That's when it up and flies away
Prince_Money Don't Matter 2 Night
"Prince fighting his fansites?" I thought. "That is a bit bizarre.!" The purple man has always done things his own way. I respect that about him. I don't understand what he is losing by having sites that talk about him and help promote him. For example, www.prince.org was around before Prince's official site. This is where I would go to find out the latest news about Prince. This is where I would go to talk about the latest happenings. I understand fighting bootleggers, but that is not what these sites are about.
I think he wants to control his image, but it belongs to the people now. Most of the discussion takes place is about the music not the man. Most fans are around my age don't care who he is with. We don't care when he gets married or divorced. We care about the music as it relates to our lives. We have grown up with music and it means something different to us when we listen to it. The Prince we care about is the artist not the person. I feel we will never really know the person.
The fansites getting hit with cease and deists letters from lawyers is not right. If you threaten your fans then you see them as your enemies. Hopefully it will all come out in the wash.

India.Arie Starts New Record Lable and Signs First Artist Anthony David
The highly acclaimed singer/songwriter India.Arie has entered into a label deal with Universal Republic Records, with her new label to be called SoulBird Music. India.Arie musical partner and R&B sensation Anthony David will be the first artist to release an album under the new banner, with his much anticipated major label offering, Acey Deucey, scheduled for in-store release on June 17.
“I’m excited that Tony will be the first artist to be released on SoulBird,” stated India.Arie, “Tony is a great talent and one of my oldest friends. I have so many memories with him. Not only did he encourage me to start performing professionally, but it was Tony who suggested I use my first and middle name as an artist. There was even a time when he spent his rent money for me to experiment in the studio.”
Describing Anthony’s sound as ‘Bill Withers meets Mos Def,’ India.Arie adds, “ I love his music for how he speaks from a man’s emotional perspective in relationships, and his views on learning about life as a young man of the hip hop generation."
Monte Lipman, President and CEO of Universal Republic Records also comments, “India.Arie’s vision and sensitivity toward artists makes her a natural to launch an enterprise like SoulBird, and Anthony David is the ultimate artist to christen the label. His tremendous poise and ability to deliver great R&B songs coupled with his great relationship with India.Arie uniquely positions him as one of our breakthrough acts this year. Everyone at Universal Republic is excited to be a part of this great new endeavor.”
India.Arie will be actively involved in the stewardship of SoulBird and the promotion and support of Acey Deucy. She explains that SoulBird (which is another name for a butterfly), “is meant to evoke the Energy of the music rather than the Style.” She has always rebuffed being stuffed in a box titled “neo-soul” and instead says “in this era SOUL is not a sound or a color, it’s an intention. James Taylor has it and so does
Al Green, John Mayer has it and so does Anthony David. That’s the kind of music I want SoulBird to represent; music with intelligence and heart, music that moves people in their souls AND their bodies. Music with wings. “
The cathartic first single from Anthony’s new album, “Words,” is a stirring duet co-written by the duo, mirroring the enduring friendship and spirit of collaboration between the two artists who have known each other for more than a decade. “We were friends for 3 years before I ever knew she could sing,” says Anthony. Inspired by her amazing talent, Anthony would soon begin to nurture his own career, writing the song “Part Of My Life,” which became a cornerstone of India.Arie’s Grammy nominated (to date she’s scored an incredible 16 Grammy nominations and 2 Grammy wins) 2001 breakthrough album, Acoustic Soul.
Anthony’s new single, which was propelled into the spotlight by Atlanta’s #1 Arbitron-ranked radio station V-103 (WVEE) is from Anthony’s acclaimed independent release, Red Clay Chronicles. “Words” will be delivered to all major R&B radio stations nationwide on April 15.
A one-time backup singer for India.Arie, the versatile singer/songwriter has released two highly regarded solo albums, his 2004 debut Three Chords And The Truth, (‘The best record to come out of Atlanta since Usher’s’ raved the Atlanta Journal Constitution) and the 2006’s Red Clay Chronicles, which featured a who’s who of Atlanta musicians, including Kiesha Jackson, daughter of Millie Jackson – ‘Pure magic…’ hailed Soul Tracks, remarking that the CD ‘continues his trajectory as one of the brightest new soul performers to watch.’ Anthony’s SoulBird/Universal Republic debut, Acey Deucey, will comprise the best of his incredible repertoire from both albums.
